Established in 1999 by the Kentucky Distillers' Association, the trail features a collection of the state's most renowned distilleries, each with its rich history and distinct bourbon-making process.

A Rich History

Bourbon's story began over 250 years ago when European settlers brought their distilling traditions to Kentucky. The Corn Patch & Cabin Rights Act of 1776 incentivized settlers to cultivate corn, laying the foundation for the classic bourbon mashbill. By the early 1800s, Kentucky bourbon was being shipped down the Mississippi River to New Orleans, thanks to the state's extensive network of navigable waterways.

The Trail Today

Today, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® includes 46 distilleries, offering a diverse range of tours and tastings. Visitors can explore historic landmarks and enjoy guided tours, interactive exhibits, and bourbon tastings.
